Object description
This is a work of a craft-based nature made by a Renaissance master. The figure of a female dancer, paired with the figure of a "Dancer" (male), stands on one leg on a wooden profiled plinth, due to the balanced way the sculpture is modelled. For better balance, an additional support is inserted into the plinth near the foot. The vertical axis of the figure, from the head to the right leg, is balanced by the right leg bent at the knee, the arms spread apart, and the drapery of the cloak. The head with long hair is slightly tilted to the right. A cape is thrown over the girl's left shoulder; she holds it with her right hand, gathered into a bundle. Another drapery hangs from her thigh, covering her lap. Despite the author's desire to endow the figure with dynamism, it is static and reflects his average skill level.
Inscriptions
On the wooden base, there are inscriptions: in yellow – "0/998-b"; in white – "№ С-І-539 – Л.ОКГ". On the reverse side of the base, there is a number: "О/998-b"; a mark with the number "998/b" (crossed out in red).
