Biography
Stanislaw Wyspianski was born in 1869 in Krakow. He studied at the Jagiellonian University and Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He was a member of the Young Poland movement, and art editor of the weekly Życie (Life). Stanislaw Wyspianski is known as a playwright and poet, modernist painter, and designer. The artist died in November 1907. He was buried in Krakow.
Object description
a) This is a study of the girl’s head. The gaze is directed to the viewer’s left. The face expresses emotions of joy and dreaminess. b) This is a study of the head of a young woman with flowing shoulder-length hair. The head is tilted to the viewer’s right; the focused gaze is directed at the viewer. The defining facial features are a wide nose and full lips.

а) At the bottom right there is the author monogram.
