Object description
Momotaro, the hero of legends and fairy tales, born from the fruit of the peach (Momo), is depicted in the composition with one of his faithful friends, a monkey. Both are dressed in military armour and their gazes are directed in the same direction. The boy's hair is gathered into a tight, twisted ponytail and laid forward on top of his head. He holds a fan in his right hand and a netted bag in his left, his haori (jacket) and sword hilt are decorated with a peach motif.

On the base of the stand is the signature of Takanoby (or Takatoshi)
