Object description
The Chocolate Girl is a copy after the work by the Swiss artist Jean-Etienne Liotard (1702–1789), which was painted between 1744 and 1745 in the pastel technique. There are many copies of this work made by various artists. A young girl is shown in profile. She is carrying a tray with a glass of water and a cup of chocolate. There is a lot of space in the picture, so it looks like the girl is walking in front of the audience, gently carrying a tray. The chocolate girl's eyes are facing down; her face is nice and gentle. The simplicity of the position of the girl's arms and legs is full of natural grace. The woman is dressed in a silvery gray skirt, golden brown corsage, white apron, scarf, and a light pink cap. The composition is full of color harmony.
