Without a clearly defined iconographic scheme of sculptural images of angels, folk artists depicted them from their imagination, creating many exciting images. The folk sculptor gave unusual features to the angel from the church in the village of Zhabokriaky. The stooped, full-figured figure is carved as a child with a somewhat stern expression. The face is rounded, calm and emotionless, with a low forehead, a low line of arched eyebrows, narrow almond-shaped eyes, and a wide mouth. In contrast to traditional lush curls, the angel's head has straight, parallel, tourniquet-like strands of hair. The smooth line of his body is crossed by the horizontal folds of his loincloth, modelled by clear furrows with ribbed ends. Due to the significant loss of polychromy and the angel's body parts, it is difficult to imagine the original intention of the folk artist, who tried to convey the image realistically despite his imperfect knowledge of anatomy.
