Object description
A tsuba is oval in shape (nagamaru gata) with a wedge-shaped hole (nakago-ana) in the center and two holes (hitsu-ana) on either side: an oval one for kozuka – on the left, and the other one in the form of a shamrock for kogai – on the right. The tsuba is decorated with a relief and through image of seven asarum leaves arranged in a circular composition around the central hole. The tsuba’s edge is solid and rounded. The image of the leaves is two-sided.
