Object description
The most numerous preserved group of volumetric wooden plastics are the figures of angels, in which masters most fully revealed their vision of the image. The angel from the Kolodribka village is portrayed as a child sitting on a small console. The squat, anatomically schematic angel's bare body is covered with drapery around the hips, modelled by horizontal lines of folds. The author vaguely details the face; it is lacking in lively immediacy. The angel's face is depicted with low brow arches, almond-shaped eyes set close together, and a wide mouth. The sculpture is frontal and static. The rhythmically arranged curls of hair do not disrupt the figure's stillness.
